At Empower & Shine, we have a name for small, intentional acts of kindness: capers.
Years ago, Heather introduced Empower & Shine to the idea of doing capers as a way to help people feel seen. A caper could be giving someone a book, handing them $10, bringing them flowers, holding open a door, or simply spreading a little unexpected joy.
Nothing complicated. Just go out and see people.
That idea helped light a spark for Empower & Shine, and capers have been part of our story ever since.
Today, some of our capers may be a little bigger, but the heart behind them remains the same: We see you. You matter. You are not alone.
